A little man came to visit me.

Jude Brearton

Jude Brearton

We played in the park. Had finger puppet theatre. His father and I philosophized on how the collective unconscious gives a kind of latent ability to be familiar with the slaughtering of an animal even if a person has never witnessed it first hand and how that Jungian thought pattern also contributes to relationships.

(Har, har: sophisticated country mice we are).

My brother is traveling across the country

My little brother is driving across the country to start his new job in Los Angeles. I am ridiculously envious of him, and wish I didn’t have little things called “responsibilities,” that are hanging me up from joining him.

Click on the picture above for some selections of the photos he’s sent me.

TRIX HAS ART SHOW!!!

My friend, and expert Big Buck hunter, Trixie Bedlam, or as she goes by in this invitation Sarah Sharp (still not her real name) is finally getting the public showing she deserves. She’s easily near the top of the list in most gloriously talented and wonderful people I’ve met in the near four years I’ve been living here.

Don’t believe me? Have a gander at Trix’s Pics.

The Last Days of Yankee Stadium

This is that new stadium they’re building across the street. I was reading Laura Hudson’s fantastic six page behemoth interview with Matt Fraction in the new Comic Foundry issue, (which you should buy immediately. If for no other reason than the fantastic drinking game they setup around All Star Batman). In the interview, Matt freely admits that he’s a giant baseball fan. Thus blowing his geek street cred into smithereens,  but I assure not. Sports fans are a different kind of geekery, but geekery all the same. Click the above picture to get more pictures from that travesty of a pitching performance.

I’m at home upstate, for a much needed recharge where I’m going to finish up TJB’s Chimera and my boss and fellow alum’s novel The Day Donny Herbert Woke Up.

Couch Pix

New thing I’ve been messing around with. Got the idea from Andy Khouri. Just want to get pictures of everyone who comes and hangs out in my house.

That’s my buddy Brian Hoth too.

Photographs from Chicago

Obama Mugshot, originally uploaded by davepress.

Joe Biden called Obama, “well-spoken,” which caused such a uproar because of the statement’s racist connotations but this is kind of ridiculous. I mean…seriously, does that not look like a mug shot? In his home city?! Helluva way to cater to Biden’s moronic tendencies.

Above you’ll find some photos from this weekend.

I quite honestly don’t know why I’m not living out there now. If you click on the above photo and hit the forward button you will see the amazingly talented Mindy Owens (co-writer of the Runaways Special and Spider-Man Fairy Tales with C.B. Cebulski ((Loners)).)

Click here for photos from Matt Silady’s premiere party for the Homeless Channel. I met Matt at the Continuity party this time last year where he gave me the first two chapters of this book, and I have to encourage people to try it out. If you’re a fan of Jonathan Hickman’s The Nightly News, with art similar to Bendis on Torso then I can’t say how much you’ll like this book.
